What to Look for in an Animal Communicator

If you are considering working with an Animal Communicator, it is helpful to be aware of a basic understanding of how it works, what to look for, and what to avoid.

How Does Animal Communication Work?

An Animal Communicator connects with your animal telepathically and relays the information shared by the animal. They have unique abilities that help them hear and understand the innermost thoughts of animals. They are trained to hear, feel or sense an animals’ thoughts, to empathize with their emotions and communicate with them compassionately. Information can take the form of sounds (“talking”), impressions, thoughts, feelings, symbols or images. Animal Communicators vary in their style, skill-set, and expertise. It takes years of training, learning and hands-on experience to become a competent Animal Communicator. 

What is The Animal Communicator’s Background?

You want to find someone who has had extensive training and experience in Animal Communication as well as training in Energy Therapies. The energetic aspects of a good reading are vital to the clarity of the information that an animal shares.  A good Animal Communicator will be trained to listen telepathically and can combine their intuition, energy, intention and practical experience.  This allows a good Animal Communicator to understand each animal’s unique personality, characteristics, and thoughts.

An Animal Communicator should be able to grasp any issues from the animal’s perspective and convey that information coherently to you.    

Whether the animal lives with you, is a stray, is a farm or zoo animal or has passed on, the Animal Communicator connects with their essence; whether they are still in their bodies or not.

Be Wary

If an Animal Communicator indicates they can guarantee an outcome, keep looking! No one can possibly guarantee that an animal will want to connect and/or share about a situation. When it comes to finding lost pets, many Animal Communicators are successful after much time and effort is put forth to locate an animal. This is a trickier aspect of Animal Communication as an animal will often move around, so it can take days, weeks or even months, to locate a lost pet. Just be mindful that no one can guarantee they can find your pet.  

Be Prepared

You may not always understand the messages your animal shares through an Animal Communicator during the reading. But often, days or weeks later, it hits you loud and clear. Sometimes you need to do some processing before you completely get what your pet is trying to convey. 

Keep your expectations realistic. Closed-mindedness and prejudice can ruin the experience for you and your animal.  No Animal Communicator has 100% accuracy 100% of the time. That is just the reality of communicating without language.

What to Expect

You may begin to perceive a difference in the animal’s demeanor or wellness – perhaps a newfound comfort they seem to radiate in their environment, or the manner in which they interact with you or other members of the family. You may receive evidence from them in their afterlife. This is a normal result, and it’s ok to trust the process.

Ultimately, it is important for you to feel a level of comfort from your Animal Communicator. It should feel like they are coming from a place of compassion and heart-based empathy. If the Animal Communicator seems cold, hurried or insensitive, they are likely not a good fit for you.

I have been a Reiki Master Teacher since 1998, offering and teaching Reiki Energy Healing Therapy for people. I added providing Reiki for animals to my practice in 2005.

Even as a child, I have always had a strong telepathic connection with animals. I began my formal Animal Communication training in 2009 and began providing Animal Communication sessions professionally in 2013. During those four years, I studied under several distinguished teachers and gleaned valuable insight from each methodology. I also conducted dozens of practice sessions.

Even though I have been doing pet readings professionally for quite some time, I continue to grow and expand what I offer during a session through working in-depth with animal chakras (energy centers that all living beings have) and exploring the soul-level connections that exist between an animal and their human companion.
