How do I prepare for an animal communication session (pet reading)?
When we schedule your reading, I will ask you to email or text a photo of your animal(s) so that I can see their eyes. I will also ask you if you have any particular areas of concern or questions you want to explore. When it’s time for your reading, I will call you and all you need to do is be present. Your animal(s) do not need to be present.
How many animals can we connect with in one reading?
I can read up to three animals in one reading. I will need separate photos of each animal.
Can you communicate with an animal that has passed on?
Yes. Since I am working with an animal’s essence telepathically, it doesn’t matter if they are still physically with you or if they have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
What if I have a couple of quick questions after we’ve had a reading?
Sometimes you just want a quick “check-in” or follow-up hours, days or weeks after a reading. Since I will have your animal’s photo on file already, we can schedule a 15-minute mini-reading ($25).
Is Animal Reiki safe?
Yes. Animal Reiki, as well as all of my animal-related services, are considered safe for all animals regardless of age, breed, or species. Animal Reiki is non-invasive and does not involve medications. The focus is on each animal’s comfort and well-being.
Why do animals often prefer Distance Reiki sessions over an in-person session?
Many animals are more open to receiving Reiki when they are in their own, familiar surroundings. When there is not a new person in their space, an animal is able to relax more quickly, feel a greater sense of safety, and move freely without any expectations. This allows them to engage with the energy on their own terms, facilitating a deeper, more natural experience.
How Will I Know if my Animal has Participated in a Distance Reiki Session?
Every animal responds in their own unique way, but during or after a session, you may notice they are calm and relaxed. You may see changes in behavior or mood. Some animals relax deeply often noted by sighs, yawning, or being sleepy. Conversely, some animals may act more alert or be quite thirsty.
In general, you will likely notice a sense of ease during stressful situations, decreased pain, or improved sleep or comfort. It is important to honor your animal’s unique response.
How do I prepare for a Distance Reiki or Parallel Healing session?
Whether the session is for you, your animal, or both of you as in a Parallel Healing session, you will want to choose a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without interruption and distractions.
It is helpful to set a simple intention such as openness, calm or connection. You may wish to sit, lie down, or even meditate – just be at ease. Have water nearby and plan for a few quiet moments after the session if possible.
You are welcome to be with your animal, but it is not required. Trust what feels right to you and give your animal agency. They often need the freedom to move, rest or engage as they choose. Trust them to find their comfort level.
There is nothing you need to do to “make it work”. Simply being present and open allows the experience to unfold naturally.
What can Animal Reiki help with?
Animal Reiki can be helpful in supporting anxiety and stress, pain management, behavioral issues, trauma recovery and end-of-life comfort. Many rescue animals have found relief from past trauma they have been carrying.
How many sessions are needed?
This will vary depending upon your needs and goals. Some may benefit from a single session, while others may do better with regular, ongoing sessions as needed.
Can I learn how to do Animal Reiki?
Absolutely!! I would love to teach you how to provide Reiki for your animals as well as any animals you may encounter.
I offer all three levels of courses in the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki created by Kathleen Prasad.
The beautiful thing about the Let Animals Lead® system of Animal Reiki is that you do NOT need to have any prior Reiki knowledge or experience.
